Agent Robert Vadasz of the the United States Border Patrol captured his 4th NRA National Police Shooting Championship (NPSC) at the Shooting Range in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Held held from September 16-20, Vadasz won the Grand Aggregate with a record score of 6159-410x.

“I’m very proud to be the first Border Patrol Agent to win four Individual NPSC National Championships,” said Agent Vadasz. “It’s an honor to be a shooter for Border Patrol and to be part of the history that is the Border Patrol National Pistol Team. Especially here at the NRA Championships.”

Final scores are an aggregate of three separate competitions: Police Shotgun, the Open Class 3000 and the Service Pistol Championship. During the four days of competition, almost 600 Law Enforcement Officers from across the United States and the world were in Albuquerque to contend for the Grand Champion title.

“Robert is one of the finest shooters ever to compete at the National Police Shooting Championships,” said NRA Law Enforcement Director Glen Hoyer. “His outstanding performance here at the NPSC’s 50th Championship is one for the record books. We thank all of our competitors, our sponsors, Mayor Berry and the Albuquerque Police Department for making this all possible.”

Border Patrol’s Kevin Worrell recorded a total of 6143-383X (or Bullseyes) for a second place finish while his teammate Douglas Goff came in third with a 6119-356x.

Judith Ragsdale of the Tampa Police Department was named Women’s Champion after firing a 6038-255x. Customs & Border Protection’s Shane Palmateer won the High New Shooter category with a total score of 5997-248x while Axel Manthei of Landeskriminalamt (LKA) Munich shot a 6037-275x to take home the High Non-U.S. Citizen title.

First held in 1962, NPSC is run by the NRA’s Law Enforcement Division, and supported in part by the Davidson’s Law Enforcement Endowment and the Law Enforcement Training Endowment of the NRA Foundation. That support includes generous donations from over 100 firearm and equipment manufacturers including Brownells, FNH USA, Colt, SIG SAUER and more.
